My name is Mescho Dunko, owner of Cosmetic Gardening which as a business covers all aspects of landscaping. Cosmetic Gardening was initially set-up by myself in 1997 when I was employed as a gardener by a local council. I started by carrying out a small Garden Maintenance run in my spare time and soon established a relatively good client base which prompted me to start out on my own. Although I had many years experience working as a green-keeper, labouring on building sites and as a gardener I decided to return to college to obtain further qualifications. As well as continuing to work and build-up the business I also completed 2 years at college to obtain an HNC in Horticulture as well as other independent qualifications such as Chain-saw Maintenance, Tree Felling, Brick Laying and Book-keeping.
The business, Cosmetic Gardening was officially started up in 1999 and since then we have quickly moved into Hard Landscaping as well as all other aspects of landscaping. I now employ a team of up to 6 workers and I work very closely with two independent Garden Designers, Anne Macfie & Lynn Harris (BBC Beechgrove gardens) who use our services to construct their gardens, large or small throughout central Scotland and occasionally further a field, which has even led me down to Earls Court, London to construct celebrity gardens at the Ideal Home Show. We have also built some gardens which have featured on BBC television for the Homes Live Show. When working with the designers we work very closely to them knowing how they operate and how to work to their detailed scaled drawings. However, we also carry out our own work very accurately, at times with no drawings at all, relying purely on a one-to-one discussion with the client. We have carried out hundreds of full garden projects and everything in between from Maintenance to Landscaping and from Decking to Driveways
